  1. On 23 May 2023, former India cricket captain and ex-BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly was roped in as the brand ambassador for Tripura Tourism. 
  2. Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on 22 May 2023, inaugurated the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s Volleyball Challenge Cup in Kathmandu.
  3. In a bid to strengthen bilateral relations, Indian Railways has handed over 20 broad gauge (BG) locomotives to Bangladesh.
  4. One97 Communications, the parent entity of Paytm, on 22 May 2023, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Paytm Money has launched advanced bonds platform for retail investors in India.

  8. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has entered into a partnership with Israel to establish the India-Israel Center of Water Technology (CoWT) to address the challenges in water resources management and water technologies in India.
  9. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading global IT services company, has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud and unveiled a new offering called TCS Generative AI.
  10. Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov and translator Angela Rodel won the International booker Prize 2023 for the dark comic novel titled ‘Time Shelter’. This becomes the first Bulgarian book to win the International booker Prize.
  11. Garuda Aerospace, a leading drone manufacturer, has joined hands with Naini Aerospace, a subsidiary of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, to establish a joint development partnership.
  12. According to data from China’s General Administration of Customs, China has become the world’s biggest exporter of cars after overtaking Japan in the first quarter of 2023.

  14. On 23 May 2023, Higher Education department of Odisha Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Infosys Limited and Nasscom (National Association of Software and Service Companies) to enhance skills and employability of students in Higher education Institutions (HEIs) in Odisha.
  15. An Indian delegation, led by Additional Secretary (Defence Production) Shri T Natarajan, attended the 16th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 23) being held at Langkawi, Malaysia between 22-25 May, 2023.
  16. Ray Stevenson, the famous actor most known in India for portraying British Governor Scott Buxton in SS Rajamouli's RRR, died at the age of 58.
